Do I need to be 21 - 35 years old to be a mentor?
No. Although this is the target group for volunteer recruitment (and hence “peer” mentoring), the young people in our program benefit from meeting with a range of mentors. Do I need to be a refugee to be a mentor?
No. It is important for young people from refugee backgrounds to learn from the similar lived experiences of others. However, they also benefit from a range
Will I be alone as a volunteer mentor?
No. No only will you have support from the Project Officer and from group activities and events, you will also have the option of undertaking paired mentoring or group mentoring.
What will I do in a mentoring session?
Do I need to be fluent in English?
Do I need to be able to drive?
Do I need to complete both a Working With Children Check and a Police Check?
What if I am moving away from Wagga Wagga before the 12 - 18 months of mentoring is over?
